Then, select the “chroma key” effect, and click and drag the “pure green screen” effect to the track you want to apply it to. After releasing the mouse key, a window will open that allows you to edit the chroma key effect. To edit the chroma key effect and completely remove the green background, first check the “show mask only” box. This will make everything that is green appear grayish-black, and everything that is not green appear white. Take the “low threshold” bar and move it to the right until everything that is grayish-black appears completely black. Then, take the “high threshold” bar and move it to the left until everything that is white appears completely white. When that is accomplished, uncheck the “show mask only” box, and what you’ll have left is your foreground subject with no green screen in the background! At this point, you can take whatever background you want in your video and add it to a separate track below the track with the green screen video. If you add the background track above the green screen video track, it will block that track and it won’t work. This effect allows you to do some very cool things with your marketing videos. For example, you can do a “video tour” of your retail store or facility while footage of the store plays in the background, or talk through a powerpoint presentation while the presentation plays in the background. You can also simply use a plain white background if you want to highlight your subject with no distractions.
